My name is J Scott. I’m a Professional Real Estate Investor.

Okay, that’s not completely accurate. I don’t actually own any investment real estate. In fact, I’ve never bought a single piece of real estate in my life.

Instead, I guess I should say that I aspire to be a Professional Real Estate Investor. And I’ve taken the first step towards that goal: I’ve quit my high-paying corporate job in Silicon Valley (California) and I’m moving across the country with my fiancée and my dog to Atlanta, GA, where — in addition to getting some much needed R&R after 15 years in the tech industry — I intend to start a real estate investment company.

Through my daily posts on this blog, I plan to document my investing venture as it unfolds. I will document my journey from “just some guy who is interested in real estate” to “(successful) professional real estate investor.” As I build my real estate investment business, I hope to be able to convey all the information — and first-hand lessons — I’m learning. Ultimately, via this blog, my goal is to be able to provide not only daily updates on the progress of my investing career, but also provide an education to others with an interest in real estate and real estate investing.
